Maintaining healthy teeth for life
General Dentistry is an important step in achieving stable, long term oral and general health. Research indicates that inadequate oral health can increase your risk of a stroke, heart disease, respiratory disease and cardiovascular disease. Therefore, good overall health may be enhanced by a healthy mouth.
Oral hygiene and routine dental check-ups are essential for good dental and overall health. Good oral hygiene practices not only make your teeth and gums feel fresh and vibrant but also provide the basic foundation for lifelong oral health.
We recommend visiting us every six months for a thorough examination and clean. During these appointment times we will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth and gums. If you experience any pain or discomfort in between your routine check-ups, please make an appointment as soon as possible.
For those who do require urgent dental treatment, we do keep emergency time set aside in our day to accommodate dental emergencies. We will always do our best to deal with your emergency to get you out of pain and help make you more comfortable.
In case of a dental emergency, please call 013 2784 4990.
The two main emergencies we tend to deal with are painful root canal treatments or an emergency extraction. Our team at Station View Dental Suite believe that a tooth extraction is the last resort. As an alternative to an extraction we will always recommend Root Canal Therapy if the tooth can be saved, to retain the health, function and comfort of your mouth. Even if you have significant tooth decay, there are numerous restorative treatments that we can recommend, such as porcelain crowns rather than tooth extraction.
